Are there more productive times for me to write in a year? As I need to plan my days very carefully to be able to do everything I need to do, I would say not really. I cannot wait for the inspiration to hit me. I plan my writing time in a planner / diary and then go to my computer (or pad or phone) at the planned time and start writing. Inspiration comes from writing itself. And as writing is a skill like any other skill - practice makes you better - this method not only produces words but also develops my writing skills, which in turn feeds creativity. It is priming the pump, so to speak. |
Also when I make writing a routine, which I have to follow, I have no time to develop writer's block...
Now of course it would be great if I was a bestselling author who made enough income to live with my writing. I suppose it is every author's dream - to have he days to use as I wish. But as long as I need to have a day job, I have to be productive when ever I find a free moment to write, so that's what I do.
